QiXChat clinician lane

A mental health consult inside QiXChat, designed to apply the same safeguards as the QiXMind workspace.

Who can use it

The "Clinician consult: mental health" lane appears in QiXChat for signed-in clinicians whose organisation is entitled to QiXHealth. It uses the organisation's mental health or youth mental health profile; youth safeguards apply only when the organisation is provisioned for youth mental health. It is never available to patients or young people.

What the lane is designed to enforce

  • Consent must be confirmed before the lane runs.
  • Names and common identifiers are pseudonymised before text is sent to the model. Pseudonymisation is not complete de-identification, and its accuracy on mental health notes has not been measured, so do not paste details you would not send to an external processor.
  • Safety gates check each reply before it is shown. They read the reply, not the text entered, look for specific wording and can miss risk. A held reply is not shown.
  • Nothing from the consult is kept in memory, and an evidence record is written for every reply.
  • Replies are sent as one complete response, so a gate can hold them before display.

These rules are applied by the server, not the browser.

From consult to sign-off

Each gated reply shows which safety gates fired, by name only, and a Sign off in QiXMind link. The link opens the QiXMind workspace on that session, where the clinician acknowledges the gates, records the session and signs off. The receipt for a QiXChat consult is the same signed receipt as for a workspace session.

The clinician lane has not yet been through the same end-to-end acceptance test as the workspace.

QiXMind is designed for clinicians and services. It is not designed to diagnose or grade risk, it does not assign a risk level, and it makes no claim about clinical outcomes. Sign-off by a recorded role is required before a receipt is issued.
